i am a junior and i know that in order to have a very good job that pays well, you need to do good in school, but for some reason i just don't care.

please motivate me to do better because i don't know what to do.

First of all, it's "do WELL in school". Secondly, motivation is something that you have to acquire by yourself. However, finding someone to be your time manager would be great. Tell a friend what you need to have done by the end of the week and ask if they will check up on you to make sure you did it. Come up with a monetary amount that they can charge you if you don't complete your work on schedule. It will work for both of you. You have support and enforcement over your schedule, and they make a commission if you screw up! :) This works especially well when you are trying to institute a behavior, or break a habit. Good luck!

Listen to me my friend. What you are going through is very similar to what i went through a decade ago. I was a straight A in grade 11 and i was a school dropout the next year. After being pushed around for the next 8 years dabbling in drugs, smoking and drinking my guts out, i realized that i was a nobody. I had no self respect left, no good friends and my family thought i was a screw up. I was virtually on the streets when i realized what a mess i was in. Now i have been trying to get my life back on the track. I did my grade 12 last year and i am in the first year at university now. And i regret wasting a good 10 years of my life, i still have sleepless nights thinkin about those precious 8 years. You at least recognize and acknowledge what your problem is, and that's marvellous. I guess you are going through one of those phases where nothing seems to be going right for you and i hope you'll pass it quickly. As for bad scores, i don't think they are a reflection of what you really are, you sound really smart to me and you can always improve your acores if you just concentrate a little bit or just learn how to suck up to your teachers (trust me - it works wonders). Start sitting in the front row in the class and please stop bunking you classes. Not caring is ok now, but 10-15 years down the line its really gonna hurt.

Can you pinpoint when you began to feel this way?
can you offer any reason as to why?
See a counsellor at school, because you need to start your work again otherwise you will fail the year. I feel like that sometimes but always get it done in the end, you dont want to end up failing a year or you will have more of what you dont like! Use that as motivation.
Its quite normal to feel like this, and not actually care about the work your doing per se, but you need to pick up a pencil or you will have to pay the price for it later. I have a friend who has just shocked most people I know by only giving in 50% of his coursework in our third year of uni. Its really bad and you dont want the same thing on a smaller scale!

well the best way is to give yourself a real real uncomfortable picture of the future like failing having to repeat a grade now makes you 1 year older than the rest of your class not getting to graduate w your class picture your self having to work at a burger joint forever make the picture almost unrealistically bad to scare your self ,, now try to figure out why you are depressed and have lost motivation know that hormones play a part in it , entertaining a sad mood for too long gives it strength.. now here is the secret ingredient and psychologists suggest this mimic the behavior you want to have you would have to pay like 50 bucks an hour for this advice see if you want to be a motivated person and are not right now visualize what a motivated person would do like homework even you don't feel like doing it . now you start doing the things a motivated person would to pretend you are motivated and look wallah ! now you are a motivated person sound to simple to work i challenge you to try it.

Are you in public or private school? The reason I'm asking if you're in private school stop letting your parents pay for school and you pay for it.

If you're in public school, think about the tax money your parents contribute to pay that teacher. Set a goal to drain all the information about school from that teacher that's more than your parents taxes is paying for.

I'm in school currently for naturopathic medicine and the cost is kicking me in the butt so to get my money's worth I'm buckling down on the books. Get my drift.

Also in my studies of a down moment like this, the change in weather is probably playing a part on your emotions. The information I'm about to share with you is for informational, educational and not as a medical prescription but maybe you need some St. John Wort's.

how much do you want that good paying job? If you do good in school, you will have the opportunity to take good care of your family, and kids, and be able to live where you want and travel where you want without having to worry if you have enough money to enjoy the things you want. your motivation should be your whole life you have ahead you!

You need to find a reason to do this yourself, a reason to get your self motivated, once you are able to do this, it'll be easier. Think bout what you really want in life and work towards it. What will you miss out on if you fail high school and what doors will it open for you if you do well? Once you have something to work towards it'll be alot easier....
Goodluck....

you sound like you are just too distracted or your priorities are changing. You need to think about what is most important and decide to put the most time into your schooling. We all have days when we don't care, but you've got to bounce back. you're normal. Now, decide to re-focus yourself and decide you are just going to DO IT. Don't let anything get in your way.
