Do you ever take little children out trick or treating and you get so tired of smiling at people from door to door that your face starts to hurt (literally!) and the people who's passing out candy always ask how old that kid is and he's/she's so cute and you feel you have to talk to these people who's passing out candy, especially if you're shy, and you can't stand 10 feet away from the house because you have to be close to the little kid(s) who're trick or treating because they're still 2 small and the people from door to door who's passing out the candy wants to have long conversations and you still have a lot of houses to visit and it's tiring. And you feel like a door to door salesman begging for candy.
Do you know what I'm talking about? Does anybody out there feel me?

No, but when I used to pass out candy, I don't have LONG conversations with the parents because I know they're busy going from house to house. I just pass out candy smile and say "Happy Halloween!" and that's it! And how come the other people who's passing out candy don't get it?

Totally!!!!! It's like, really exhausting to have to answer people's questions about the kids' costumes, ages, blah blah blah, for llike 2 hours. Not only that, but the kids are all full of pent-up energy from being dressed up and getting to go trick-or-treating, and it's physically taxing to have to walk around the neighborhood for a couple of hours in freezing temperatures (it's usually about 30 degrees here by Halloween), and you have to worry about people being pervs or weirdos who are going to snatch the kid away or be mean to them for no good reason. You know, even when I was a kid myself, I found it just exhausting having people inform me what my costume was every other house ("Oh, look! A little fairy princess!!!!") And there's always some moron who answers the door with a damn dog in costume, and then the kids have to go nuts over that for llike 5 minutes and you're like, "OK, let's GO!!!" And I really hate those losers who still hand out that peanut-butter taffy that tastes like a butt.

Costumes (Small Children + Sugar) X (Staying Up Late + Having Worked That Day) = Parental Nervous Breakdown

Yeah, but that's the way it goes. Once the kids get older, you'll be able to watch them from the sidewalk. So on the bright side, it doesn't last forever. My daughter is now in high school and I find that I miss taking her Trick or Treating.

How bout this. flow on your ghost city, deliver a bag packed with candy. place candy products on each and all the stairs of the homes. Then run around yelling trick or handle and retrieve the candy from the preset places! Why, its no longer loopy in any respect! O _ O Uahaha. WAhahaha!

If you go with a big group of kids, take turns with the other parents to go up to the door.

Sounds like you need to shorten your journey. Small children are happy with a few pieces of candy - they aren't so greedy. So try making it easier on yourself this year and be thankful your neighbors are friendly.

It's tiring because you're the one watching to keep it safe and fun. If it isn't hard work, you ain't gettin' it done.
