Because they don't want them to temp any more of their Congressman into "inappropriate behavior".

This question must be in response to the statement that was made earlier by one individiual. I don't think Repubs want homosexuals to leave the country, but I can see how some of their rhetoric would lead you to believe that.
Like Ruth the meanie head thinks that homosexuals should be content with homosexuality not being criminalized and another genius gave her best answer for that ridiculous statement. Now she is claiming she has to give up her belief system in order for society to accept homosexuals. Truly, one does not affect the other. I've know many homosexual individuals and never once have any of my values been compromised. What's next? No premarital sex so know one else has to give up their belief system. The illogic on this issue is astounding. Republican politicians want you to think its important so you go and vote for them.
Someone being gay or lesbian does not affect anyone elses belief system. Allowing them to have civil bond (whatever you want to call it) has no effect on anyone's belief system. If you believe it does, you are stressing yourself out for nothing.

I dont want the gays to leave. They contribute a great deal to our country. As an America you can choose to live your life how you want to behind closed doors, and for the most part, in public. I am a Republican and do not want the gays to leave nor do I care if they are gay.

They do not want gay Americans to emigrate out of the country. They simply believe that it is dangerous to family values. Whether or not you agree with that stance, I think all politically informed individuals on both sides can agree that they do not wish them to leave the country

You got it all wrong. They don't want then to leave the country. They want them to quit being gay. OBTW Why are they called gay anyway? Most of them don't seem all that gay to me.

I was unaware of this Republican plan.
Why do gay Americans need everyone else to give up their strongly held belief system in order to make them feel better about themselves?
Why do gay Americans demand special treatment?
Why do gay Americans have to have their own special week at Disney World? Why do they then act worse than circus clowns on crack and then wonder why Americans despise their "lifestyle?" Ditto Key West.

We don't. Actually we prefer if you kept your sexuality to yourself. The world doesn't care that you're gay.
Ruth "the meanie" nailed it.
