These folks can give me a freakin break! They all are so pompous in thinking that they can change things by showing up. Asking us for money. The nerve of them!

I can't stand it when celebrities get political. being famous doesn't give anyone the right to tell people what to do. if they really wanted to help they'd do it w/ actions not words. I hate how they do one little thing and want the world to know. I also hate how they do auctions of their old junk for charity. they didn't do anything other than clean out their closet. they need to stop being so full of themselves and really devote their time and money to a worthy cause for the sake of helping and not because it's the thing to do now.

Well the sad thing is that many people actually "look" up to celebrities so if they see them do it they might do it too. Some celebrities are actually genuially giving and donate lots of money to charity but they don't nessecarily go out and tell others too. Then again some celebs who don't really give away that much , are the ones who pose for ads so that others will give money.
But honestly, would you be more moved to give money if you actually saw a poor little kid in poverty or would you give money if you some some pic of some celeb telling you too....i'd go with the kid...
I think that if celebs want to get in on this they should just encourage it and not just tell people what to do.

NO, it does *not* make me sick. I think it is a great thing. Some one needs to do something. If our government isn't standing up, and individuals are too small to be heard, then celebrities -- who have the media with all eyes on them -- are doing an admirable thing by doing their part. And what are *YOU* doing?

if they are doing for the right reasons but how do they no what right reason is to be popular for doing it huh.and whats with all this adopting foreign babies all of a sudden - if every celebrity gave a million then world poverty would end

It bothers me that they use their celebrity to get us to make donations but maybe 1% of them will ever make a contribution.
