As you have a cream suite I think it will be what is called a pigment leather. The first thing you should try is an ink stick. The fresher the ink the more chance you have of removing it. It is a good idea to have one in your house if you have a pale leather and children!!!!
You should also be using a good quality leather protector on a pale suite. This will act like a 'scotchgard' and will make any more mishaps easier to clean off.
If an ink stick doesn't work a solvent based remover will need to be used and it may also remove finish and pigment so is best left to the experts.
Hairspray sometimes works but can also make the matter far worse as it can spread the ink over a bigger area. Nail varnish remover or any other solvents will remove the finish and pigment which will need replacing.
BABY WIPES are about the worst thing you can use on a leather sofa as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin your suite.

We have a`cream leather sofa from John Lewis and I've managed to get pen on it a few times. A bit of warm soapy water got the worst off, the rest seems to fade naturally over a week or so. I don't think my wife has ever noticed!

Hello and thank you so much for being there in my moment of need.....Artistic 3 yr old+cream leather sofa+black ball point pen...I tried the baby wipes and found they removed a layer of leather, the potato didn't work, tried the jif this didn't work either!
In the end, soda crystals diluted in a smalll smount of water, left on for a minute, then rinsed off, worked a treat.... Please don't tell my mother in law, she swears by the stuff, and i would hate to admit it worked to her......Just have to go and scrub rest of sofa, so clean patches aren't so obvious, before hubby gets in from work...........
why o why didn't i get the chocalate sofa's !!!!!!!

You could try turning the pen marks into a pattern with another pen... Or the same one after pulling it out of the offenders rear orifice.

Definitely baby wipes, they are 98% water as well, so should be safe.
I have used them on my car leather seats, plus my brother in law recommends tham and he is a car upholstorer.
Try it on a patch out of sight first if you are worried.
