For example, making a 'lucky cigarette' by turning the first cigarette in the pack upside down? Does a cigarette burning down one side mean anything (lucky in love, etc)?

I used to know loads of these but have forgotten them all!

3 lights from 1 match is unlucky (from the trenches, lighting 3 cigs from 1 match gave a sniper time to zero in)
ciggy burning down one side meant that you are love when i was at school
blowing smoke in a girls face (or vica versa) meant you loved that girl
i once lit a cig off a candle in a dockside bar in rostock and got shouted at by a few people saying that if i did that a seaman would perish at sea
but i guess smoking is unlucky in general

Don't light 3 off the same match, I think it comes from the trenches during the First World War, a sniper could spot your position in the dark in the time it took to light three roll ups, something like that

You don`t light three cigarettes on one light,or match.
If it burns unevenly someone loves you.
