The Health Food Stores generally carry all natural hair dyes. I would suggest going that route.
Please do not put your unborn child at any risk, no matter how many others say it is safe. Even if your doctor told you, I would not.. No, Nada, Nope.
There are toxic chemicals in department store dyes that may not affect your child until it is grown. Something that could cause cancer by the age of 18. Why risk it? Forget the chemical dyes.
I say that because my mother was given a pill by our family physician back in the 1960s while she was pregnant. It was suppose to be safe. But soon the female children born of the women (who took the pill years before my mother did), died by the age of 18. Male children went unaffected.

I don't think you should anything that soak on your hair and skin could harm your baby. My step mom is a hair dresser and she said that there is hair dye out there for pregnancy it not like your average drug store dye but you can get it there ask the pharmacist. my step mom isn't home right now and i can't remember the name. good luck to you she work until 8 months pregnant with my step sister in the salon dying hair and everything but always wore gloves.

Ask your doctor for one.......but mine told me it was up to me. She could not tell me for sure it was safe or unsafe. There are no studies that show the long term effects on a child if the mother died their hair or anything. I decided not to, and let it grow. Not worth the risk to me, just for vanity reasons.

My Doctor and nurse/ midwife said it's fine......an occasional exposure tot he dyes and smell won't do any harm..... it would only matter if you were a professional dealing with the chemicals all day. Just remember that your hair is different in oregnancy and you may end up with a funky hair do because of it.

No it's not safe to dye your hair.....you'd be risking your babies health, it's not good for you or the baby to be around those chemicals.

My doc told me it was fine and would not harm the baby but be smart about it... Do it in a well ventilated area. Chemicals in a badly ventilated area is bad for everybody... Otherwise, it is safe.

yes you can as long as you are in a well ventilated area. My OBGYN said it was fine...the thing is years ago dyes used to have a LOT of chemicals to it...I'm not saying they don't now, they just don't have as many and are not as toxic. My mom is also an OBGYN and she says it's fine....but better doing it after your 1st trimester.

You are out of your first semester, it isn't the safest thing, and not recommened... but I did it when I was 4 months pregnant with my first son, and he came out fine!
Just don't make a habit of it.... I did it for my wedding, I had black hair with blonde highlights, normal hair color is blonde.... and it was growing out and looked horrible!!!!! So I died it back to blonde....
