No, burping does not cause the adam's apple area of your throat to enlarge. The burping mechanism is to help rid the stomach of excess gas. This is a natural system and will not enlarge your throat.

Generally, no. However, if you burp a whole lot some of the gastric acids in your stomach can rise up into your esophagus which would irritate it and could cause swelling.
