He may be suffering from sleap apnea. I suffer from it the problem is the airway closes when you sleep causing snoring and also for the person to wake somewhat a number of times a night. This makes it so your body, especially the heart, does not get rest and weakens. I would fall asleep in a chair or at my desk at work just like turning off a switch.
He needs to see a doctor right away as this can leed to death from a weakened heart. It could be other sleep disorders, but best to play it safe.
In my case they did a sleep study where you are monitored in your sleep to determine both the quality of your sleep and how often you wake up. They try it without any equipment first to get a base reading then use a CPAP machine(a mask worn over the nose that pumps air into the nose and down to the throat to keep the airway open). I was waking every 30 seconds without the mask and once they put it on and I got back to sleep I slept through the remainder of the night without waking! I use a CPAP daily and feel a lot better, no longer battling to stay awake during the day. Lots more energy.
Good Luck!

Snoring can be stress related. If your husband is feeling over worked and has a lot of things on his mind [and a lot of pressure] his snoring habits can decrease.
Sometimes, snoring can become a major problem. The only way to solve this is to take your husband to a doctor that can offer some medical advice and the two of you can go from there.

Has he consulted a doctor about this? Snoring can be a symptom of sleep apnea, which is a dangerous condition. There are treatments for it. Being overweight can also cause a person to snore. My husband snores, so we sleep in different rooms. Other than that, it doesn't really affect us, his dr. said it was just from being overweight, he doesn't have apnea or anything.

my husband and I have slept in separate rooms for 5 years. We have been together for 6 years. Sometimes it only makes sense to be in separate rooms when it comes time to sleep. I can't stand his snoring and he says I snore way too loud. Whatever the case may be, when it comes to sleeping, it is adios to the other. We are very much in love and quite young. It isn't like we are old fogies, just know what makes sleeping the easiest. Try it, you may be suprised how nice it is to have an entire bed and no noise what so ever

Snoring is not necessarily a male "thing", but it is important inasmuch as it can destroy your personal relationship.
I suggest you and/or your husband speak with a medical practitioner skilled in the area of sleep deprivation - there could be any be any number of reasons behind the snoring. The cure could be quite simple your may involve more complicated methods.
Don't let the snoring destroy your marriage as it destroyed mine.

It's caused by a narrow throat passage which will create a snoring noise when the muscles relax and the air goes through. Men tend to snore more because they have thicker neck muscles that cause the throat to close up more when the are sleeping.

HE is probably experiencing sleep apnea. This can be surgically corrected and it STOPS the snoring. My friend uses the snore strips they can be found at any pharmacy or Wal-Mart, Target and or Wal-greens. They help some by opening up the nasal passages. It also depends on the position he sleeps in, if his head is downward he is blocking his airway. Head up opens the airway and allows free breathing with no constriction. I would suggest the doctor first of all. I worked for me and 2 of my friends

Your hubby probably has sleep apnea. He should go for a sleep study and see a specialist. Then they will probably recommend a cpap machine for him to use at night. He should take it very seriously . When you snore you do not get proper rest and could end of falling asleep while driving. It happened to my husband before he decided to seek help.
