Do you think 24 years in prison for a non-violent crime was a fair sentence for Jeff Skilling? Do you think Lay would have gotten the same sentence if he were still alive?
Personally i think the sentencing was a little harsh.

The people at Enron were responsible for elderly people Losing All Of Their Life Savings and Retirement Money..Think of it like this--imagine working for 30 years for a company, and investing in that retirement savings--- and then when you are 60 years old and ready for your Golden Years, the President tells you that your stock and retirement money is worth $0 dollars and that you'll have to live off your children for the rest of your life, and that all your 30 years of hard work was for NOTHING--how would you feel? Just because a crime is not violent, it doesnt mean that people's lives arent ruined. Would you like if your mom, dad, and aunt all have to come live with you because they lost all their retitment money at Enron? They ruined people's whole lives. These corpotations need to see that they cant do that in the future.

Actually I think it was a little soft. He will probably be eligable for parole in about 6 years. And it will probably be granted. Considering all the trouble he caused and the profit he made I don't see it as being harsh at all.

Yes, he can sit there and think about all the families that will be using his multi million dollars to enhance the rest of their lives. His work cost alot of people all the money that had for retirement. So I don't feel sorry for him one bit. And as for Kenneth Lay? He got off easy! He died.

No, Skilling's sentence was not fair. They should have allowed all the Enron employees and shareholders to play soccer with his head.
