A werewolf (also lycanthrope or wolfman) in folklore and mythology is a person who shapeshifts into a wolf, either purposely, by using magic, or after being placed under a curse. There is a slight flaw here though, silver melts at a very low temperature and would melt in the barrel from the heat, exploding the gun and injuring the person trying to shoot the werewolf.
Apart from that minor detail, it's a plan!
