The quest for youth and the denial of old age.
I am lucky, I am middle aged, with a full thick head of hair and no gray. I do know a man who was starting to develop a receding hairline in his 20s.
The ponytail is a final attempt o capture their youth, just like the come over. Balding men who shave their head totally bald are just denying that they are growing old.
With our youth obsessed culture who can blame them. As the baby boomers age then people are going to start accepting balding, and old age. It's only a matter of time.

There are many factors that can attribute to hair recession or massive hair fall and you need to find out which one exactly is responsible for the problem you are having now. Of course male pattern baldness is still the most common cause, but, for instance, if you are a woman things are deinitely different! This is the reason why you will need to really dig down and see the source of your problem.
Other causes of hair loss may include (both in men and women): severe mental or emotional stress, excessive use of coloring or bleaching agents, traction alopecia or excessive strain on the scalp due to braiding or corn rowing, hormonal changes, alopecia areata or hair loss due to autoimmune diseases, and many more. Each of these conditions will require a different approach in order to achieve success regardless of whether you're going to be using conventional or natural methods.
In my opinion it's much better to use natural methods as opposed to conventional ones, they're cheaper, have less to no side effects, and often more effective.
A good way of regaining your full head of healthy natural hair is well described on this guide: http://hairagain.toptips.org

Why is this a concern of yours? Perhaps it is a way to improve their appearance. Men have been balding since the beginning of time. I will add that the testosterone is higher in balding men is significantly higher than those who retain a full lot of hair. Which means we who are bald have larger testicles,we have a pair and if someone ever approached me and asked that question would be ushered by their full locks to the nearest dark alley. People will do what they want, free will still exists. And yes you struck a nerve with me. So ask another mind bending question.

ego me dear, I had a neighbour who not only combed it from the back to the front but then twisted ends into something that looked remarkably like horns on the top of his head. He stopped when I rmentioned his resemblance to a goat. Looed better after that. There is no need to cover up. Bald men should make the most of their looks and personality more than their lack of hair. I can always spot my man in a crowd by his pate, he looks gorgeous.

I can handle the pony tails - what I cant abide to see is the parting low on the side, the hair under the parting grown long and then FLIPPED UP and over the baldy bit. Do they think its hiding the bald pat ?? Its 4 strands of hair for gods sake and when the wind catches it, its 4 strands of greasy hair hanging in their shoulder - looks ridiculous. All you balding men out there - shave it short - it looks much better xxx

As a bald man for the last 30 years, since I was 20, I think I know a bit about this one.
When I was 20 It worried me a lot and I tried to wear it as long as I could.Let's face it, girls don't go for young balding guys. When I was 30 I had found a long term partner and my lack of hair bothered me less. When I was forty It was

Why shouldn't they? Many men with lots of hair wear ponytails & many don't; some bald men have ponytails & some don't.
Live & let live!
