Photon Torpedoes, from star trek tng, how can we see the torpedoes if they travel faster than light?

On star trek, when photon torpedoes are fired they appear as red (or another color) blobs of light, if photon torpedoes are perported to travel faster than the speed of light how can the human eye perceive them as light blobs?

i could be wrong but I have never heard that they travel faster than light, I had always thought tht they emited photons and the photons traveled faster than light but the torpedo itself didn't travel faster than any other torpedo.

the photon torpedo was developed simply because the phasers were ineffective at warp, since the ship was travelling faster than the particles of the phaser beam... they are visible because the do not incidentally travel faster than light in an ordinary situation. only when prepelled from the torpedo bay while the ship is travelling at warp....

First, you should know that they're not real. And if they're called "photon" torpedoes, they shouldn't be travelling faster than light anyway.
Second, I don't understand why you wouldn't see something just because it travells faster than light.

first of all their isn't any income the federation, 2d quantum torpedos p.c.. greater of a punch in battles. photon torpedos are the older version torpedos quantum torpedos are the greater moderen greater suitable greater effecient version. quantum torpedos have been created as a greater effecient torpedo to combat the borg and dominion threats.

How can you hear them explode if there's no sound in space? How can the people on the ship see the stars going by if they're going faster than light.
