go to target and get a make up kit. they are about 5 dollars. then dig into the old clothes. is your child a girl or boy??? that might have some say in what costume you choose. just be creative and use your imagination and things you already have at home. oh you may want to try thrift shops too. i got my daughter a witches costume for 2 dollars.

Dollar stores are great for cheap costume ideas.
I was a cop last year.... GRIN...and I bought a really cheap package that included a gun that shot orange sticky things, a belt, badge, stick and notebook. I'm not going to say what the rest of the costume was, but it was awesome!

Take a white sheet and put it over the child. Cut 2 wholes in the sheet where the eyes should be,take the sheet off first, ofcourse! And he can go as a ghost>

Take him to Wal-Mart or Party City. Their costumes are about $20 and are pretty decent looking.

Be a Blues brother! Use brown eyeliner for sideburns, get a black jacket, pants, plastic hat from party city, shoes, and sunglasses, and there you go! Also, consider dressing up with a friend!
