broadband dsl connections come with a filter (splitter) which must be connected to the phone socket on the wall FIRST. the dsl filter has two sockets. 1 for DSL & 1 for phone. the fax line can be connected on the phone side. all the phone sockets in the house MUST have this DSL filter/splitter connected first. the phone or fax can then be connected to the phone side of the filter. if a filter is not connected on any of the used phone sockets in the house then the phone line will have a lot of noise & distortion.

DSL modems (as well faxes) can be connected to PC usually by few different methods (which will vary between ISPs and modems and faxes brands and models). Two typical methods for DSL modem are: USB cable and Ethernet cable. Ethernet cable looks very similar to phone connector however is bit wider (can be easily confused for phone). No matter which one you use (USB or Ethernet) you should still have phone connector in PC, to which you could connect fax.

The fax line plugs directly into the phone line. The phone line is analogue. DSL is Digital Subscriber Line which is not analogue, so not compatible.

Hope this helps (unless I've mis-undesttod your question).

Gosh, I'd help you but I guess I'm too female to understand complicated stuff like that.
