While Sidney is certainly a very good player, the Pens aren't specifically building a team around him in which he is the focal point. Addition of Evgeni Malkin (who may become a super-star in his own right) and Jordan Stahl (who may be returned to his junior team this year), and other Pens like Marc-Andre Fleury, Brooks Orpik, Ryan Whitney, Noah Welch and Kristopher Letang (who will probably go back to juniors, considering that the Pens' blue line is getting crowded with the return of several injured players) seem to indicate that the Pens are trying to put together a team that will be successful in today's no more clutch and grab NHL. I believe management is trying to put together a team similar to the Pens Stanley Cup teams which had super-star Mario Lemieux (the cornerstone of those teams) along with high caliber players (Francis, Jagr, Murphy, Stevens, Barrasso, etc.), "grinders" (Loney, Borque, Errey, etc.), and a solid defense.
While Crosbey will be a major contributor to the Pens future hopeful success, he'll need solid support from talented teamates to vie for the Stanley Cup - and I think Pens' management is attempting through the draft and limited trading to fill all the other slots with those types of players. Wait a few more years until these young players mature - if they get the right teammates, they may be a force to be reckoned with.
As for the Pens leaving Pittsburgh, there are several plans on the table that address the construction of a new arena. While slots licensing will impact when and who will be involved in the building of the new arena, the new owner has stated that he will examine all possibilities to keep the Pens in Pittsburgh.
Rumors of a move to Hamilton, Ontario have been thrown about, but Toronto and Buffalo would not appreciate another team in their areas, and the NHL board may be reluctant to approve the move.

Not sure they are "building around Crosby." Malkin was aquired prior to Crosby. Marc Andre Fluery is getting great, also before Crosby. Jordan Staal is a forward as well. They aren't really building around a player and that is what is putting them on the path to be a Championship team.

Though the team isn't built around Crosby, yes they are for sure getting better. The only worries I have right now are Fleury's rebounds and WHY THE **** IS COLBY ARMSTRONG ON THE 1ST LINE?!?! I hate Colby, he is terrible.

To Habitant: You keep posting about how the pens will move and how the city isn't gonna support them. FALSE. The Penguins and Isle of Capri WILL get the casino bid, and even if they don't "the unsupportive" city has a plan B for them to stay.....And the only possible place to move them would be to SE canada, and toronto and buffalo wil never allow that.

danniell tAbout Me>>>> no know why cause buffalo will win the cup this year again,

what does again mean danniell t, the Sabres have never ever won the Stanley cup so how can they again like you say.
anyways..

Pittsburgh is looking great but unfortunately they will be moved in the next few years so i don't think you will see a cup in Pittsburgh. yes their is a new owner but if the city is not going to help he will move them. he promise Mario Lemieux to keep them there if the city helps and that only for 5 years. the lease is up in June 2007 on the Melon Arena and if the deals don't go through the Pens will be gone to another city, hopefully in Canada.

SORRY!
