yes it is worth money, how much would require a proffesional valuation, don't try tosell it on EBAY as it will not go for the maximum value also it would probably end up in the hands of a reseller that will sell it for more - that you will only get as part of a specialist auction from people that specifically collect either louis armstrong memeraribillia or autographs, it might be an idea to find a sales agent that KNOWS who will pay the most for it on a commission - the more they sell it for the more they get in commission

RE:

I imagine this is a "young" Louis Armstrong, so if it is authenticated as his, then yes, it is worth something. If it has not been dedicated to someone and is just his name, then it is worth more than if it had. It is probably also worth more than an "older" Louis.
Go to an Auction House, preferably one which specialises in autographs.

I would think that is worth quite a bit, find out before you put it on e-bay, fans will pay a lot of money for autographs, look around for info first, Good luck, hope it brings you a lot of money if your ganna sell it. xx

Do what Nettytone says!!!! U might want to try Christie's or Sotheby's Auction Houses in NYC. If they don't do music memorabilia themselves, they can put you in touch with those who do. Always get a 2nd opinion, ok? Congratulations!

I'm guessing it is worth a lot, but you should go to an antique dealer and have them appraise it. Like go on the Antique Roadshow or something.

Yes, definitely.

I would get it valued with a reputable valuer, your local antique shop may not be too accurate as this is a specialised item. Watch out for con-men too.

Is it written on a personal check? ...if not, I wouldn't think it was worth much.
