Actually I use yahoo answers as a way of helping people who needed answers to their problems. I don't really keep track of my points.I let yahoo keep track And at the same time I get to know and learn a lot of things by asking and reading other peoples' questions and answers. Just relax and enjoy yourself. Take it easy. Of course, if you like competition then be more active and answer more questions and if your answers get chosen as best answers then you get more points. If you ask you lose points. There are no prizes to be won. You just get recognition for being Top answerer for the category (ies) you answer. You will learn as you go along. Just try it out. Try to answer somebody's question and then ask one yourself. It's quite fun and informative. You will get 100 points for the first time and each day you visit the page by signing in, you get 1 point... And one more thing --Be open minded and don't take some of the advice too seriously There are all kinds of people in this program .Low IQ ,high IQ cheeky and the serious...and also the naive....Hope this helps!

You get 2 points for answering a question, and you lose (or it'll cost you 5) to ask a question. Points really don't mean anything, they're just points. You don't get anything if you get more or less.

The points will affect the level you earn, which also affect the amount of answers and rates you can make...

It's all trial and error like the rest of the net. Don't fret and go to it.
