YES. No Doubt. Vanek is the type of kid you want to build your team around. He has a great supporting cast of Ryan MIller, Max Afinaogenov, and Jason Pominville. With the help of his team mates the sabres will continue to be great. He is off to an amazing start this season and is still developing into the NHL great that the Sabres planned on him being.

Yes Thomas Vanek will indeed emerge as a great player--He did it in the AHL 2 years ago during the strike.
If He stays on a line with Afinogenov and Roy that whole line will put up great stats this year.
Almost this whole team is young, and will be great for sometime to come.

I think he has the possibilty of being a very good hockey player, if not great. The problem I saw with him last year is he whined too much to the refs and wasn't commited to playing the way he can. This year we are seeing a different Vanek, we are seeing the player he should be. If he stays on this track and keeps his focus, he should be a force to reckon with in the future.

I don't know how anyone playing for the Sabres can't shine this year, but Vanek is one of my personal favorites. It might take him a while like it did Afinogenov, but I bet he'll continue to be one of Buffalo's strongest players.

For sure. He's playing with very skilled players and he's only going to get better. He's in the top 10 in points this year.
