if u know what the wire u want to junction with is supplying and ur sure that the new wire u want to install will not over load the circuit, then just cut off th power to the wire, cut the wire where u want to make the junction, take a junction box and pass both ends of the wire u just cut into the j-box....insert ur new wire that will be going to ur new area.....white to white and black to black..wire nut them and add top to j-box.......

make sure that u r using the same size/gauge wire in the j-box ...

Don't do it. You can easily get 240V instead of 120V if you don't know what you are doing. You would also be bypassing the circuit breakers causing a fire hazard.
