What a stupid question. It is a sad life indeed when you have nothing better to do that to ask a bunch of people if taking a hammer to your computer would fix it. Would you fix a failed relationship with your friends that way? How about your car, if it broke down would you take a sledge to it to make it work? Doubtful.

You probably blame the computer for what's happening too, but I will let you in on a tiny secret: most computer errors stem from inept users. Just because you can own a computer does not mean you know the first thing about using it.

Use the hammer on yourself and leave the computer to someone with some common sense.

Yes you can it will fix it permanently.
How ever try these simple steps.
1) Delelte your Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. Do this weekly
They slow you down. The more you surf the more you collect and they maintain the connection.
2) Run defrag on your PC. Do this monthly.
It puts the files back into order on ur PC faster to retreive.
3) Run spyware and adware checks on your PC. Do as often as you like at least one a week.
They can slow you down and collect information. I suggest you look for these as they are effective and free. Ad-Aware Se from lavasoft, SpyBot Search and Destory, and Ewido anti spyware. They all remove any bad software from your PC. Why use 3? They all are good and sometime they pick up what the others may miss. The first are regularly updated. Ewido is free for a trail period then the updates stop but has a Useful tool called the shedder that overwrites any file you want up to ten times. Be care full using it as once that file has go it unrecoverable. Good for removing spyware files.
4) Run your anti virus At least once a week and make sure its updated regularly.
Stops viruses from running on your PC. Scan if you have a problem as this is the first defense.
5) Get a Cleaner for issues that can also slow your PC or freeze it.
If you running windows try CCLeaner. as it is free. And detects issues that your PC might be trying to run but doesnt complete.

The first time you run throught these steps it might take awhile for them to work but with regular sweeps it should keep your PC running happily.

Apart from Ewido all are free and you can make a denonations if you feel like it.

Point to note the Ad-Aware will freeze if you have bad sectors on you hard drive. I have provided links for you to look at about the products I have mentioned. I can only say they work for me. And be careful in what you download.

If the above steps dont work then take your 14lb club hammer and use it to fix your PC

Good luck

before using club hammer make sure to unplug it from the mains and place it outside from the highest point possible ( bedroom window) this will help in preventing damage to your club hammer.

You can but for a far more effective and quite frankly pleasing fix do what i did, take it a block of flats and sling it off the roof 18 floors up, you'll feel so much better when it explodes as it hits the ground at around 70Mph. Trust me you'll feel MUCH better.

One of my friends tried to change out a hard drive in a laptop. So many little screws and parts to put back in, that the thing was dead before he could close up the case. Things started flying!!! But being a country boy, he hung it from a tree and we shot it with .22 rifles. Now that was awesome!!! Go for it dude. Get that 14 pounder and enjoy yourself. Play it safe though, were safety glasses, leather cloves and don't stand in water (in case you keep it plugged in for special effects). And PLEASE post photo for all of us. I would like to see that one.

I'm sure that would do the trick. My best advice is open the nearest window and toss, has worked for me in the past.

All the above options will of course work however you need to be careful as these may well invalidate your warranty in case you wish to return it from where you got it! Have you tried the manual? ;-)
