What are your favourite lyrics by Black Sabbath/Ozzy? Mine is a tie:

"Mother's gonna worry
I've been a bad, bad boy.
No use saying sorry.
It's something that I enjoy!"
(Flyin High Again)

and

"Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love, and forget how to hate."
(Crazy Train)

My favorite Sabbath lyrics are to the songs here. "After Forever" and "Children of the Grave" are taken from the 1971 album MASTERS OF REALITY. Black Sabbath wrote cool and spooky lyrics and were labled as devil worshipers and crap. Yet all of those people who critisized them just looked at album titles and song titles. How much more pro God and pro Peace can these songs be? Read these lyrics and people should realize that Sabbath was a great band of good people at heart. Thanks for this question.

After Forever

Have you ever thought about your soul - can it be saved
Or perhaps you think that when you're dead
You just stay in your grave
Is God just a thought within your head
Or is he a part of you
Is Christ just a name that you read in a book
When you were at school?
When you think about death do you lose your breathe
Or do you keep your cool?
Would you like to see the Pope, on the end of a rope
- Do you think he's a fool?
Well I have seen the truth. Yes I have seen the light
And I've changed my ways
And I'll be prepared when you're lonely
And scared at the end of Our days

Could it be you're afraid of what you friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above
They should realize before they criticise
That God is the only way to love

Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun

I think it was true it was people like you
That crucified Christ
I think it sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near
Say you don't believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down
Now you can't retrieve.

Perhaps you'll think before you say
That God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just, realize that he is the One
The only One Who can save you now from all this sun & hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear?
Yes! - I think it's too late.

Children Of The Grave

Revolution in their minds - the children start to march
Against the world they have to live in
Oh! the hate that's in their hearts
They're tired of being pushed around
And told just what to do
They'll fight the world until they've won
And love comes flowing through

Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today
Will the sunrise of tomorrow bring in peace in any way
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear?

So you children of the world listen to what say
If you want a better place to live in spread the world today
Show the world that love is still alive you must be brave
Or your children of today are children of the grave

My favorite is still Black Sabbath from the 1st Black Sabbath album:

Black Sabbath (6:16)

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me,
Turn 'round quick and start to run,
Find out I'm the chosen one
Oh, No!

Big black shape with eyes of fire,
Telling people their desire
Satan sitting there he's smiling,
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh, No, No please God help me!

Is it the end, my friend?
Satan's come around the bend,
People running 'cos they're scared
Ya people better go and beware
No! No! Please! No!

I mean what could be more perfect - you have this eerie looking woman in what seems to be a cemetery on the cover and then the first song starts "What is this that stands before me?" and then after this song, they go into "The Wizard".

The Wizard (4:18)

Misty morning, clouds in the sky,
Without warning a wizard walks by,
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell,
[Funny clothes]/[Funny cloak], twinkling bell* (*b-hell)

Never talking,
Just keeps walking,
Causing his magic

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy,
Ev'ryone's happy when the wizard walks by

Never talk'n,
Just keeps walk'n,
Spreadin' his magic

Sun is shining; clouds have gone by,
All the people give a happy sigh,
He has passed by, giving his sign,
Left all the people feeling so fine

Never talk'n,
Just keeps walk'n,
Spreadin' his magic

Black Sabbath when Ozzy was lead singer - the alpha and omega of acid rock (heavy metal to you younger Black Sabbath fans). There are other great heavy metal bands but they are all Black Sabbath/Ozzy wannabees.

Sabbath was no good without Ozzy and (OK, mouse pointers on the "thumbs down" icon, everyone) Ozzy is no good without Sabbath. Sorry if I offended you, but Ozzy's nothing without Geezer and Tony. My favorite Sabbath songs?
The Warning
Wicked World
Lord of this World
Spiral Architect
A National Acrobat
After Forever
Megalomania

Momma I'm Coming Home
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes
I've seen your face a thousand times
Everyday we've been apart
And I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm Coming Home

War Pigs
Generals gathered in their masses
just like witches at black masses
evil minds that plot destruction
sorcerers of death's construction
in the fields the bodies burning
as the war machine keeps turning
death and hatred to mankind
poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Black Sabbath

Sweet Leaf

Master of Reality

Alright now!!
Won't you listen?

When I first met you, didn't realize
I can't forget you, for your suprize
You introduced me, to my mind
And left me wanting, you and your kind

I love you, oh you know it

My life was empty forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear

Come on now, try it out

Straight people don't know, what your about
They put you down and shut you out
You gave to me a new belief
And soon the world will love you sweet leaf
