Well, different soils have different weights based on density. .5 cubic feet of sand will weigh a lot less than .5 cubic feet of clay soil, because the clay is denser.

Also, it depends on how dry or wet the soil is.

you can't convert cubic feet to weight.
think of it this way-a cubic foot of feathers will weight almost nothing, a cubic foot of Lead will be quite heavy. cubic feet is a measure of volume(think empty bucket) pounds measure weight(think bathroom scale)
