I just asked a question on the paranormal and was told that I was ignorant for believing as well as the others who answered my question, so in response I wanted to ask this question... and also add this statement:
to believe is to question, which is human nature... do not question my intelligence just because I have experienced something other- worldly. Just because you dont believe in something doesnt mean it doesnt exist. You need to be more open-minded about things and question things you know nothing about, this would be a sign of intelligence, to not question would be a sign of ignorance, simply because if you didnt a lot of things in the world we have now we wouldnt have, all these scientific discoveries we have made would not have been possible without first questioning things, along with new inventions etc...to question and not follow blindly is what makes us intelligent

sometimes to believe is to see. and when you believe sometimes you see what surrounds you. those who don't want to believe don't want to see or admit that anything but humans and a few select animals exist in this galaxy. not many people believe there is life past earth either.
For years even dating before the witch trials and their ridiculous tests. Like if you floated in the water you were a witch. But if you drowned you were innocent. Those that are different from the basic form of realisim is divided and seperated from the large part of society. Society in a mass group is either looking outside of the box and then teh rest of them are pulling them back into the box and still punishing anyone who believes in ghosts, fairies or even angels are still looked at funny.

Some people are just so rigid in their thinking that something has to be literally in their face before they consider believing in it while others are too afraid to face the unknown. Then there are those that are totally arrogant and believe they (and mankind) are the supreme ultimate beings in the universe and that nothing else exists, which is laughable. If we're 'supreme', the universe has some major problems, LOL!

Some people don't like to be taken out of their comfort zone. I believe that they were brain-washed at a young age and aren't receptive to any other idea of the world.

he who knows doesn't know, he who knows he doesn't know knows. people confuse religion with spirituality. ignorance and close-mindedness goes hand in hand with religious zealots narrow views of perception. if people were shown truth (not A truth or THE truth, but TRUTH), they would be so shocked that they would reject it. when zealots spew their ignorance just remember what they themselves say "in the end days what is good will appear to be evil, and what is evil will appear to be good"

For they see with their eyes and not their souls. They feel with their fingers and not with their heart. They would not run from fear, but they would run from themselves.
They have not been where we have been.
