I'm currently getting my JD from a good university. They have a program that would allow me to get my MBA or MS as well as a JD in 4 years. So for one more year of school, I would get a masters. I'd probably get an MBA. How much does having an MBA add to the earnings of a person with a JD? Anyone have any hard numbers?

I'm a lawyer, graduated in 2004. I considered getting an MBA as well. It all depends on what you want to do. For where I ended up, an MBA would only be more debt. I work in a small firm. I started in the States' Attorneys office. If you want to do in house counsel or work at a large firm it might give you a slight leg up on competition for getting a first full time job. But realistically experience dwarfs an MBA in importance. Grades in law school would also be more important to the employer than an MBA. As far as how much it adds to earnings, I would say it is not worth worrying about. Zero.
