If you and friends are the kind of people who like unique things, then great. There are so many upper end mags that offer monogram everything from towels, sheets, clothes you name it. So obv. people with the cash must think it's cool or it would not be offered to them- there must be a demand. And being cool, hip or trendy is in your opinion!

Several hundred yrs ago(well since the beginning of time) women quilted & embroidered & sewed alot more than today. Sometimes an elderly fraile mother lived with them. There was so much work to be done inside & outside of the house, they were all busy doing chores & work just to survive.Alot of times the older woman who was in bad health anyway may have sewn & created household needs & clothing. They lots of times personalized their creations for family members. There was a true sense of family & belonging, maybe also a need to record time in some way, so the tradition was carried on for many years & just recently in the past 30 yrs became not so popular. They still offer monogrammed towels & sheets in some stores, usually catalog sales(Sears, Penneys....) I can remember when people had their names on their screen doors or created metal signs for their yards with their name on it as well as the street address. Similar to a Family Crest from 3-800 yrs ago. That also faded away. Family Pride is what is was called then.

Yes I think it is just stupid. I have heard of marking or initialing socks when you live in a house with alot of children and or dorms but embroidering shoes that's a little corny

If you feel like it. I dont think it is extremely cool.
On nike.com, you can desgin and buy your own shoe for $100, and one choice is to have your name on the side.
I'd think it'd be pretty neat
Also, if you lost them, nobody else would want or steal a shoe with your name on it

good because if you loose them their name is embroied into it. SO to wear the shoes the person who found them would have to get the embroided name embroided over so they would look bad. So if your name embroided in them the person will jsut return them.

Yes!!! Very lame. It's like a mother labeling her kids clothes when they are in kindergarten. What, they need to remind themselves that their shoes belong to them? No. Just no.

Seems cheesy. If they want something with their name, why not a shirt, or a hat? Shoes are made a specific way for a specific reason. I wouldn't buy shoes with my name on it... I don't need random people on the streeting saying, "Hey, You, Yvelise!"

I had put mine and my daughters name on some Nike shoes I designed online. It was pretty cool.
