Uncontrolled diabetes involves high levels of blood sugars in your circulation throughout the day. These sugars react with proteins in your circulatory system and blood vessels [acetylation]. This leads to narrowing of the small arteries and blood vessles [similar to but different from high cholesterol]. The damaged and narrowed blood vessels have two effects.

First the penis doesn't have a proper blood supply. Second the nerves of the penis are damaged as well. Result ... impotence.

Unfortunately this is a common problem for diabetics. The good news is that most diabetics can use Viagra with excellent results. But check with your doctor, as some diabetics have other conditions that can make Viagra use dangerous. And don't buy the fake pills that spammers advertise on the Internet - they are often made of drywall and have no active ingredients at all.
