fear and ignorance.......

2006-10-24 08:39:44 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I think people are frightened about too much knowledge. Remember, knowledge is what blew paradise for humans so many many years ago. Not only in the bible, but in just about every other creation myth there is. We have been warned by the big cheese not to get too smart or "BOOM", we're done baby. If you follow the myth of Eden for example, once consumed, the fruit of knowledge made them "like god" and he was a feared that they'd eat from the tree of life and live as long as he does. If that's all it takes to scare god, then cloning must have him shakin' in his boots, not to mention the people who want him to remain the omnipresent omnipotence. There is also the fear that wealthy folk will use cloning to make new parts for their old bodies and never have to give up their wealthy folk status. Trouble is, if you make it illegal and force it underground, only the wealthy folk will have access to it. Quite the conundrum, huh?

People are more afraid of what they don't know than what they think they know.
Cloning sounds like a logical conclussion to selective breeding as we have done for 1000's yrs.
Yet give the results of selective breeding going on in the agriculture corpations and the ?able results we have . I would prefer non cloned animals.
Oh check out some sci-fic readings for what can happen.

They believe it is ethically wrong to clone an animal as this could be seen as creating life and only god is supposed to create life.
