And if so, what are your thoughts?

I was blown away on what was real and what was enhanced with Photoshop.
In my opinion, ad agencies are selling us lies...and it certainly is harmful to women.
What do you have to say?

Thanks to all who answered.
All responses were right on target, so it was difficult to choose whos was best.
Hopefully, women AND men will wise up to the illusion being sold to us, thanks to the Dove ad.

That is an awesome ad. I do believe that the ad agencies are selling us lies, to an extent. However, I also believe that it is our responsibility to teach our children that not everything you see on television is real and that there is no such thing as a miracle cream. My mother taught me these things and that natural beauty is a a good thing. I feel that because of her I don't have that distorted beauty image in my head.

I somewhat ought to ask your self even if all of you who imagine it is ridiculous, somewhat have children. shall we be real looking, no man or woman is going to shop there severe college baby in a vehicle seat, however in the journey that they don't seem the suggested accurate for a seat belt, fullyyt for the reasoning that they maximum likely received't get a lot taller, yet a fifteen year old might want to have extra adulthood in sitting in a seat belt wisely, then a 5 year old will. I see no longer something incorrect with us holding our children. There are vehicle seats you are able to purchase which will carry your baby until eventually they are waiting for a booster, you ought to in difficulty-free words ought to purchase a million- 3 vehicle seats on your baby infant seat, which no longer anybody purchases, a convertible that you will be able to get one which will carry from 5 to 80 pounds so one of those seat truly is the in difficulty-free words one you ought to purchase then the booster that you would possibly want to no longer unavoidably want reckoning on the convertible seat you purchase, so i don't think of it is a money recreation, i imagine you're making a stupid determination the the vehicle seat you're choosing to purchase.

Real beauty is exactly what it sounds like. Real. No addatives, no additions. We need to be proud of us!
Everything we see in print is airbrushed. Everyone on tv has body makeup on. You can even "airbrush muscles". Anyone can have sixpack abs and no celulite when you apply makeup.
But honestlly who wants to do that everyday? Exercise, eat well and take care of your skin. Be happy with you.

I saw it and loved it! I think it should be a mainstream ad. It shows how these models so many people "strive" to look like are just normal looking people like ourselves. The bonestructure, long necks and flawless skin are just basically good photoshopping skills.

Yes, I have seen this. It is *awesome.* I would recommend everyone watch this, especially impressionable teen girls. It just highlights that what we see in ads and on t.v. is not a realistic portrayal of how a woman is supposed to look. I give it 2 thumbs up!!

Its scary how media influences our lives. Its bad enough our children's dolls are made to have unobtainable proportions (Barbie)....but then we inundate women with images of perfection ...which doesn't exist. No wonder women have such low self-esteem. Bravo to Dove....hopefully other advertisers will jump on bandwagon.

i was amazed by that..i also saw them use photoshop on the ABC show Ugly Betty where they made the model look like a completely different person. its awful. im glad they made that commercial because it shows people that no one really looks like the models in ads.
