Must of been over 15 years ago because it was plastic when I was a kid! Now the smaller 16 ounce ones changed in the late 90's I think.

Around 86 I think.... I was in Alaska....

Edit: No... no... wait. I believe that they were plastic then too. But they used to have a rounded bottom which made it necessary to have that extra piece of plasic affixed to the bottom of the bottle to allow it to sit upright. (You can still find them on the coast from old trash washing to shore from the ocean, very sad... Imagine what will be floating back in in another 20 years...)

I don't actually recall 2 liters in glass...

NEVER, 2 liters were never available in glass. There were quarts in glass and they were sold along with the plastic 2 liters.
