Love to hear how Bush supporters feel about losing your right to a fair and speedy trial. And the clause that protects Bush and others who may have authorized torture and other human rights violations. 9-11 TERRORISTS DESERVE NO MERCY. I'd love to hear how you'd feel if Bush decided YOU were an enemy combatant and the Act allows him to do just that.

But it does affect you Republican Mom, all it takes is to be accused and the Act does the rest. You may not believe it applies to you but it does. Please read the Act(if you Haven't) and then decide. Terrorists deserve no mercy or protections , I firmly believe that, but this is much more than that.

To all of you that don't believe the Act means YOU... The Act allows Bush to arbitrarily declare ANYONE, including an AMERICAN citizen "an unlawful enemy combatant and imprison them without charge or trial for the duration of the War on Terror. Please don't think I have 1 iota of sympathy for terrorists, I don't. I am talking about the unmitigated power this Act gives, against all the Constitution stands for.

Yes, the idea that the government can just take someone and detain them for no stated reason, give them no lawyer, charge then with nothing and keep them in a little cage, torturing them for the rest of their lives, is certainly what our founding fathers had in mind when they wrote that outdated constitution that the President swore to uphold.

I have not lost any rights and neither have you. Terrorists, that are not citizens of this country, are not governed by nor deserving of protections under OUR Constitution. I don't break the law, I don't contact known terrorists oversees in the caves of Pakistan, I don't consort on the internet with terrorists, I don't check out books from the library on how to make bombs, I don't send money to terrorist organizations. If is looks like a terrorist, smells like a terrorist, acts like a terrorist... mmmm, must be a law abiding American just minding his own business.

Read the law. US citizens are not subject to the MCA: 2006. Don't believe everything you hear on Air America or Keith Olberman.
