There's all sorts of types of Herpes Viruses.

Cold Sores happen to be one.
So is Chicken Pox.

You DO need to treat it,,even if you Must go to the store.

Products like Camphophenique work great and is cheap.
Vick's vapor rub is OK,,it works on cold sore and is cheap.

Old fashioned "Pine Oil" used for cleaning,,,like "Pine Sol" brand,,,is cheap.
And it kills cold sores,,,it can burn pretty bad sometimes though.
*** CAUTION,,that is NOT a "medicine",,OK?
It's sold as a Household Cleaning Product.
Do NOT,,,and I mean Do N-O-T even Think about substituting anything else that seems similar.
ONLY<
Those sores can SPREAD,,the stuff in them is sorta contagious.

Plus,,it's on your face,,You dont want scars,,or it spreading all over your mouth.
The Sooner you treat it,,the smaller it will stay till it goes way.

Not trying to scare you or worry you ,sweetie,,it's not "life threatening",,they're common & almost everybody gets them sometimes.
But they CAN get serious,,and can get infected badly.
You Really,Really need to take it serious.

If you dont have the $$,,or cannot get to a store,,,ask a neighbor if they have anything you can use/borrow,,whatever.

Blistex,,Carmex, are also cheap & common remedies.

You'll need to dab some on the sore several times a day,,for a few days till it's gone.
ANY cold sore medicine or remedy needs to used that way.
Several times a day,for several days.

DON'T pick at it like a pimple or something,,that'll make it spread.

And I know You dont wanna hear it,,but if it gets very bad,,,Go To a Doctor!

Most adults around where you live,,,should have something to help you.
Even your School Nurse.
I know it can be awkward & embarrasing to go ask for help,,,
but dont be Shy.
And most of all,,DONT WAIT,,,ya need to get some medicine on it as soon as You can.

A lot of teenage girls get cold sores,,and a lot of them have or carry around stuff to treat them.
So ask your friends,,or their parents.

YOU READ anything anyone offers You,,make sure it's for Cold Sores or Fever Blisters

take care,,and good luck

** ALSO,,,
Wash your hands WELL after touching the area around your mouth,
And DO NOT put your hands/fingers near your eyes.

If it's a cold sore, then it is Herpes Simplex 1. All cold sores are Herpes. If you have it, you will have it for life. It is highly contageous and over 75% of the population has it.

Whenever you feel the onset of symptoms, do not kiss anyone or touch your lips and then touch another person on the lips. And do not initiate any sexual contact (I realize you are only 13, I mean in the future when you are older) of any type during an outbreak.

You probably got Herpes (assuming this is a cold sore) from when a relative or whomever kissed you while they had it.

Carmex (you buy it over the counter in a drug store) seems to work wonders for healing a cold sore quickly.

Herpes simplex type 1 is not identical to the normal genital herpes -- Herpes Simplex type 2. However, since oral sex has become common, this distinction has got a bit blurred. If anyone has an active cold sore, they shouldn't kiss anyone or have oral sex. If you've got herpes, you've got it for life and recurrences can and will occur. There are effective medications to shorten, or even abort an attack, but the virus remains.

To be thoroughly honest, I study a piece of writing that led me to purpose an ICE cube. it quite is it! be conscious an ice cube to the sore some circumstances an afternoon and it is going away. Going even extra, in case you adjust your meals recurring around slightly, you will no longer even get chilly sores anymore. i attempted this recommendation some months in the past and it has worked completely.

try dabbing vaseline on it. my mom has a cold sore as well. must be the month/season for cold sores. it won't hurt if you go into a pharmacy and get something for it. i am sure its not that expensive and can speed up the healing.

A cold sore is herpes, just not the "other" kind you are worried about. Your mom should be able to ID it for you - if it is, salty water seems to work the best.

YES! COLD SORES ARE TYPE 1 HERPIES WHICH IS CALLED ORAL HERPIES. IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU HAVE AN STD OR GENITAL HERPIES! YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN IT FORM A FRIEND,PARENT,OR FAMILY MEMBER. JUST DO NOT KISS ANYONE OR WHEN YOU GET OLD ENOUGH HAVE ORAL SEX WITH ANY ONE WHILE YOU HAVE AN OUTBREAK (ACTIVE COLD SORE). YOUR DOCTOR CAN GIVE YOU SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN AND TO HELP IT GO AWAY.

IT COULD ALSO BE A ZIT SO ASK PARENTS AND DOC. BUT YES ITS TYPE 1 HERPIES/ORAL HERPIES

It means that you have HSV aka herpes type 1. Not the same as type 2. Really can't treat it without going to the store, but L-lysine supplements help. It can be airborne and 90% of the population carries that particular virus.
