I went to a small private school (18 in my graduating class). Instead of a formal reunion, we are doing an all school reunion, for anyone that wants to attend. Since we only have about 30 right now confirmed, we are planning this at a restaurant, and everyone can take care of their own bill. What kind of things can we do, to get everyone involved? I NEED HELP with ANY ideas!!!

I don't have any original ideas. I just had my fortieth high school reunion. There were over 500 in my class. (we were war babies!) Anyhow, have people bring or send in pictures, you can make a collage of the pictures. There was a board with a special memorial for those who had passed on, mostly from the war in Viet Nam. There were prizes for coming the farthest, those with the most children, those with the most grandchildren. Those who felt the inclination were allowed to tell a few short anecdotes about their experiences in high school. Plans were made for the next reunion! The committee made a booklet with names and addresses, names of children etc. That's about it. I hope you have a wonderful time.

good luck on that. being in a restaurant is really going to limit you. even with only 30 people, i would be opting for (at the very least) a party room where you would have a bit more freedom. in the restaurant, you will have to be considerate of other people eating there. they will not want to be bothered by your reunion affairs.

ok so you do have the party room. then i suggest, for starters, getting as many old pictures through the school's years as you can get your hands on and doing a slide show. while the slide show is going - you can do a game of "guess who?" stopping occasionally at the more humerous shots.

you don't want to do anything that is going to make people feel put on the spot. some don't have fond memories of high school and only show up "just to see."

check out some of the reunion sites for party planning. i'm sure you'll find lots of ideas there.

at my reunion they had some photographer there and i found myself in line, writing a check for $20.00... some rumor that we were doing this for an "updated yearbook" of sorts and while i signed a roster with my current address, etc. - i never recieved squat for that $20.00. and that was just over 4 years ago. so if you choose to do something like that - make sure you are CLEAR about what is happening. i will never attend another reunion because of a few things that occurred that weekend. high school was crappy enough, but when you have snatches running the reunions that don't follow through... well... i have better things to do with my time.

Ask this question.
When leaving high school what did you have planned for your occupation and is that what your are doing now? Any similar questions are good to get people talking. Talk about what music you listened to, and favorite hangouts.

if money is not an object, you should all book a small boat and party? get a captain, a caterer, and a DJ. dance the night away.

My High School Class Reunion, the class of 1984? The hell with them.

I got better respect for my years in college than I did as a high school student back in the 80's.

I told one of the representatives of my high school:thanks a ******* lot for making my high school memories a living hell.
