Don't get me wrong. I love my life, but it can't always be fun and enjoyable. There are things that everyone has to do in order maintain their lives as stable. You have to do what you have to do to get what you want. When I am in that "have to" stage in my day, I tend to go through it with a stoic, calculation and efficiency of a robot, I guess. It doesn't cause me distress, but it is hard to ignore compared to how I am when I am enjoying the fruits of my labor; loose, spontaneous, easy going and doing what I like. Does anyone else out there have this sense of duality?

Do you mean that you feel detatched or disasociated, from what you are doing, like you are almost watching yourself? If yes or similar, then I would say that 99% of people may experience this at some point of their day, doing some boring or necessary chore/task. Not certain only guessing here, although I wouldn't worry if the rest or a lot of the time you are happy.

You know how monkeys are, how they're always so curious and investigating? And cats?
I think human beings are like that. They need to always be moving around, trying out new things and making discoveries. Especially young people, especially men. Otherwise, after following a routine they feel bored.
I think it gets easier as you get older.

yes. get up at 5.50, make coffee, take a shower, get dressed, drive to work, sit in traffic, sit at computer all day, leave 4.27, go sit in traffic,....start all over the next day.
I guess it could be my fault, I can only change it and find a career I love where I would not feel like that.

I think everyone feels this way. Those times in my life are when I am doing and not when I am allowing God to work in my life. When I let him direct my life, life is much more exciting and rewarding then when I don't allow him.

it's called being uncomfortable comfort. except robots lack the power of love. i had a robot once. he couldn't understand when i said "i love you." it became awkward. i had to kill it.
