I have heard of him being a decent utility player and a good pinch hitter towards the end of his career.

He played in the Majors from 1963-1974.With the Cardinals,Cubs,Red Sox and Reds.Winning the World Series in 64 and 67

He got tossed around, playing for the Cardinals, Cubs, Red Sox, and the Reds. He was a utility player, and was better at batting his later part of his 4 year carrer, but still posted a .238 carrer BA.
