does anyone think friday night lights is a good show? i've wanted to watch it, but never got around to it. can anyone explain what is going on so far, because i would like to watch it tonight? and is it something worth while?

I find it very interesting. The show is about what is going on "before" the big football games.
The first show featured a star quarterback. He was severely injured in a play on the field and is paralyzed. The team is trying to deal with the injury.
The coach is new to the school and the town. He is trying to do his best. Some of the townspeople are very critical of his techniques and play calling.
There are also some "alumni" who are trying to get better players on the team. These tactics may be considered "illegal." They deal with recruiting which is not permitted in high school sports.
The back up quarterback is struggling as well. He is trying his best, but has a lot to catch up on because the star quarterback carried the team.
We also see the family life of these players, too. Not all rosey!
I think it's worth a view. The acting is very good. Kyle Chandler plays the young coach.

I watch it i really like it . I think there are alot of politics that go on with high school football. it shows what goes on behind the curtains of the game so to speak. I know kids in high school have problems and they really do explore that on this show . I think it is a good show. good luck and god bless.

In my opinion, high school sports isnt suitable for TV. Let the kids be kids instead of putting them under the harsh spotlight of a TV show. So I would say it's not worth watching.
