We were planning a family vacation abroad for 2007 when my daughter announced her pregnancy. She is due on Thanksgiving and we realize that going out of the country is not going to happen, but we still want a nice family vacation before the 2 younger kids start working and leaving for college. I need some ideas that will please everyone. Ages are 48, 47, 23, 16, 15 and baby will be 6 months. We have done Disney, NYC and Long Island on past vacations with great success.

Well not sure exactly what part of the states you are from but there is a lovely area in Ohio it's Kelley's Island http://www.kelleysisland.com/ it is easy to get to by ferry. Kelley's is a very relaxed and quite enjoyable. I have stayed at a lovely B&B that is family orintated its The House on Huntington Lane http://www.houseonhuntington.com/.
Once you are there you can take trips to Cedar Point http://www.cedarpoint.com/ or Put-in-bay http://www.putinbay.com/ or you can take in the island's winery http://www.kelleysislandwine.com/and beaches and nature http://www.kelleysislandnature.com
I hope where ever your family goes for your 2007 holiday that you have terrific time of it.

Orlando of course. All of the parks have something for every age group. Even the baby's face will light up when they see the characters and hear the music. Rent a villa so that you can cut costs by eating at home and you have privacy for the teens and peace for the baby. The teens will love a pool and games room and the adults can soak in the jacuzzi once the kids are all in bed. Have a great holiday.

Why don't you rent a houseboat on Lake Powell? The baby isn't going to get much out of it regardless of where you go, but the rest of you will have an absolute ball! There are several websites that will give you all the information you might need.

Have you been to California? Redwoods? Usemite? The various Parks like the Grand Canyon, Bryce? If you like cities why not
visit San Fransisco? Visit the area drive along the 101.
There are so many wonderful places on the West Coast but you did not say where you live so I simply tried to guess.

The Red wood forest in California. Its near the ocean as well, great little shops and its different, not so many rushing hurring people and its all nature. I loved it when i was 16, even though i had been there when i was very young. I didnt remember it. So it was all new.

How about renting a beach house on the Outer Banks of North Carolina? That is something I would like to do with our large extended family.

I would suggest go to Arizona, it is a place for the entire family to enjoy, you can start in Sedona, enjoy the gorgeous views and then find your way to Phoenix. Lots to do for every age.

Wherever you go, go to Seattle :) That's the best place ever! There's beaches, rainforest, mountains, desert, cherryorchards, the best aquarium around, a cool kids-museum where they can experiment lots of stuff, waterfalls, and lots of other cool things to do.

Get a sitter for the 6 month old. Babys are cranky cranky cranky when they have to wait in lines or in the sun. If you want a good holiday.. leave baby with a sitter! It's just more humane!
