I have had dark circles under my eyes since my childhood. It makes me look older and always tired no matter how much sleep I get. I know quite well how to cover them... So I do not need advice on concealers.... I would like to know if this problem can be linked to kidneys, liver... If so what should I do and if I attend to it will it make go away. Can a naturopath help with this?
Thank you all for your answers

There are eight factors which contribute to the dark circles under eyes:

Heredity, Exposure to the sun, Medication, Allergies,Eczema, and Asthma, Nutrition, Fatigue, lack of sleep, Pregnancy and menstruation, and age.

In most cases the condition is a result of aging or inheritance, and does not indicate illness or toxicity in the body. Anyway, there are two simple Ayurvedic remedies that can help eliminate the hollow look.

Gently massage saffron or almond oil on the dark area before going to bed.

Dip cotton pads in fig juice, rosewater, or cold milk. Lie down with your feet raised higher than your head, then place the wet pads on your closed eyes. Stay that way for 10 minutes.

Jamie Lee Curtis(daughter of Tony Curtis and actress Vivian Leigh) said,
"the only thing I ever got from my father were these dark circles under my eyes"

Heredity is a huge factor but dehydration and allergies plus lack of sleep are undoubtedly the contributors in something there since childhood...trust me I also know all there is too know about concealers and heredity.

I have very dark circles too. My naturopath says it's because of my food allergies and my anemia.
Dark circles are also genetic.
