As they once said in Oliver Twist...It's only cheating if you get caught.

As a matter of fact, YES, he did cheat. Whether Kenny Rogers fans like it or not, he cheated, plain and simple. It was made very clear that there was a sticky substance on his left pitching hand, which appeared to look like pine tar. (This is often used in practices to allow the picthers to practice better with controling the ball).

Tony LaRussa even went as far as to NOT answer a question that he was interviewed about when asked "Did you have an exchanging of words with the home plate umpire about some sort of a substance spotted on Kenny Rogers' hand?"

So yes, Kenny Rogers DID cheat. He wouldn't have felt the need to wash the substance away from his hand if it wasn't illegal. In the picture of his hand even after he washed it, there was still a small brown ring in the spot where the substance had previously been.

Considering that it IS the World Series and it IS a big deal and major league baseball players DO get played an incredibly large amount of money yearly, there is no need to cheat. True enough, every team wants to win. Kenny Rogers is intimidating enough WITHOUT cheating.

No...Because if he was cheating then he would have got ROCKED after the 1st inning. Instead the 1st was his worst inning pitching and he went on to pitch 7 more scoreless innings.

The worst part of this whole story is Joe Buck and McCarver. They are so biased that you can tell what team they root for, or what players they hate. Now they may hate the Tigers (doubt it, best story in baseball) or they hate Kenny Rogers (most likely due to cameraman pushing last year). If you don't believe me then go back to Joe Buck's call of Randy Moss Mooning in Green Bay. He made it personal because he doesn't like Randy's character.

Long story short (too late) if the other team doesn't do anything about it then why are you still pushing it Buck and McCarver?

GO TIGERS!!!

well, if he had cheated he would have been ejected from the game and since he was no ejected i am going to assume that tony lasrussa and the rest of the staint louis cardinals also agree that no harm was done i think what really happened is that tim mccarver and joe buck used photshop to doctor kennys picture because they need to create a diversion due to the low ratings never mind that the low ratings are due to mccarver and buck's lousy skills at calling a major league baseball game tim and joe had to come up with some kind of plan to get the liberal media to talk about something other then th efact that are the worst announcers of all time ever

Yes he did cheat and got away with it. One question early was why did the Cardinals not win after he washed it off. I can counter that with why did Rogers keep his glove on and shake hands with his glove on? Probably because he still had junk on his glove hand.

And it just wasn't with the Cardinals. He was doing it in the playoffs. How can a average pitcher turn into a super star in post season. In my opinion, he should be suspended, both LaRussa and Leland need to be fired, and the umpire incharge needs to be fired for cover up.

All is fair in love and war and baseball. It did as much for baseball as the strike in the nineties. No way it stopped in the first inning. They contaminated the series no matter who wins. Blacksoxs have made a comeback

atombi....what the f*** are you talking about, is this your solution to this. (dumb @$$).

Why is so hard for ppl to accept that maybe it was just dirt.He took it off whatever it was and still just absolutely dominated the cards. The Cards are just sore losers...they just use this as an excuse.
