That depends upon how close you are to the Central Office, how old the copper is in the local loop (the wires between you and the CO) and the condition of the internal phone wiring in your home.

DSL is limited to 3 wire miles from the CO or remote DSLAM. The telco can tell you what that distance is. If it's much more than 2 miles you'll be hard pressed to get 1.5 mbps. If you're more than 2.5 wire miles, go with cable as DSL will suck out loud at that and longer distances.

Don't sign up for a committment unless they give you at least a few days to get it installed and test it out -- 30 days should be suffice but nothing less than 15 days -- from the date of delivery of the self-install kit. If you can't get it working or if performance is not up to your expectations you need to be able to cancel the contract without penalty.

i have the wireless modem and the 14.95 dsl plan with them. i really dont have a problem and the speed is fine. i do know from recent experience that if you sign up online you get a better rate. i made the mistake and called and re-signed (i had them for a year already) my rate is 14.95 but if i would have signed up online it would have been 12.99. they will not give you the rate on the phone as online...i asked them to.

I think it's pretty good. Faster than dialup and waaay more reliable than cable!
