You could if you had a wireless card installed on your laptop and your cellular phone set up to connect your laptop to your ISP. That could get expensive - using your cell phone.

You could either set up your laptop or your friend' s computer for dial up access by installing the software on yours and his/her pc and then dialing into your ISP from there. As long as there is a land line and you have a dial up account set up you can use any land line most anywhere - hotel, Internet Cafe, private residence (that does not have DSL) etc.

I think you can as long as your ISP is not long distance from this location.
unplug the phone line from your friends phone and
Plug the phone line into your computer phone jack/modem card.
Double click on your isp providers icon. It's pretty much just like your friend dialing this number from their house phone instead of the computer. It should work fine.

Of course - however you'll have to get a provider to dial-up... there are some free ones out there (lots of ads) or cheap ones - $9.95.... like Netzero, etc.

Once you dial up - just click on Explorer and go to Yahoo.
