file sharing is a good alternative to paying 20 bucks for a CD! there's no reason why CDs should cost 20 dollars! back when records first came out, they increased the cost over tapes because they were more expensive to produce..

but when CDs came out, they increased the cost again, even though they're much cheaper to produce than records.. considering you can get entire DVD movies for 15 dollars, CDs should cost 5 dollars at the most..

the record industry ripped off the public long before the public ripped off the record industry.. now they're paying the price for their price gouging and screaming "it's not fair!".. well I say "too bad! you brought it on yourselves!"

That's a sad Photoshop job, but I agree that it's pointless to arrest and prosecute downloaders. They may be stealing copyrighted material, but musicians are artists, and artists create out of passion, and should not create only for fortune or fame. Those people deserve to have their stuff stolen, but it usually sucks anyway.

Filesharing isn't so bad for bands that want to promote their music either. It certainly gained me more fans than it would've if they hadn't made copies, because smaller record labels do produce limited quantities. If my CDs are sold out, I got no problem with people downloading or copying them.

YES. We must stop the evil file shares otherwise the major labels wont be able to screw bands into turning them a profit....

Most bands make their money off touring - not by selling cds. Music should be free.

touring? HA! bullshyte.
bands dont make jack off of touring.
they make money off of selling cd's.

touring costs millions of $$$ and the record companies shell that out so people will get interested in a new band.
