Yes, to keep the English from getting all the revenue off our oil, they make millions and none of it goes back to Scotland, we get all the raw deals, we are used as ginea pigs for all the new laws eg Poll Tax. The English just use our country to dump Nuclear Waste and other countries too, I could go on and on.

What makes you think they have'nt total independance, they even have they're head boys looking after england, wales and northern ireland. hoho, of course they may see it as an impossible target to be totally independent any time soon, as they get more of the taxpayer's money per head in scotland than the english, welsh and northern irelanders. tip yer tammy and spread the caviar over the haggis dear. Why is it that scotland has free education and old people's homes, that's what they claim at least. Should england, wales and n.ireland not have these as well. how does scotland afford this. maybe it's time for scottish mp's to speak up. SNP get your clogs on, people need to know your policies in these areas.

One reason against would be destabilizing the British isles, but my ancestors were Scottish, and if the people of Scotland wanted Independence London couldn't say no, plus i think Scotland is ready for independence, its a beautiful country and very different from London and Wales.

I doubt Scotland could survive financially for very long. The industrial base is kinda thin. I believe the population is quite happy with the social welfare system which is very costly to the rest of the UK. For the Brits it would be great like the ultimate budget cut come true for Scotland I suspect will be One straw too many for the average Scot to bare and will start immigrating to the UK or US.

Independence, in an interdependent international, is the traditional situation for international locations the international over and there isn't any sturdy clarification why Scotland could be diverse. yet independence is approximately greater desirable than political powers. Independence is a philosophy, a existence-style. it is as suitable to how people stay their lives because it is to how a rustic is ruled.

I think it's a great idea.It would stop them bleeding the English dry.
However what would Scotland do with no major industries to support themselves.
Some people are under the misguided conception that North Sea Oil belongs to the Scots.WRONG
The oil rigs are in international waters and the only thing it has to do with Scotland is that's where it comes ashore.
I'm sure the Scots could negotiate a good deal to continue with that.

Why would they get independence, or want it. The UK has a Scottish PM and home secretary and chancellor of the exchequer. Most of the media is manipulated by the Scots. Many MP's in England are Scottish, how many the other way round, none.

Scotland couldn't cope on their own financially. Loads of Scots move to England for work as there isn't the attraction for companies to move to Scotland to set up shop. They go to India or Eastern Europe (and then the Eastern Europians move here - for work - doesn't make sense).
