Put him in a complete footed pajama set. I use those for my daughter because she never stays in a blanket and it gets pretty cold at night. Also put something else underneath it if you can't find one thick enough. At this age you can put him with a blanket since the risk of SIDS isn't that much of a risk anymore. As long as he's rolling over and can already stand up, then you shouldn't worry about SIDS. You can try the blanket but like I said my daughter moves all over her crib so that just doesn't work for her.

Yes you can use baby blankets for your 8 month old. I have been using them since the day they where born. The rule of thumb is to put on your baby what you would put on yourself. So if you have the flannel feet pajamas on him i'd only use one or two baby blankets on him, and just make sure he is tucked in at night really good. With the blankets just put them on him as if he where you. Put him in the bed and then put the blanket or blankets on him after, they don't need to be tucked in or anything. And than before you go to bed you can check on him to see if the blankets are off and if they are just put them back on him gently so as not to wake him up.

Just a word of advice- be careful putting any blankets on your baby for bed. I used to put blankets on my son before bed, and a couple of times I had gone into his room to find the blanket over his face. I tucked it underneath his sides and everything, but somehow it still made it's way overtop of his face. It is actually recommended that you don't put blankets in his crib until he's 12 months or older.
When I put my son to bed I just put him in a sleeper with feet, and if it's quite chilly then put a onesie on underneath to keep him warm, and maybe even some socks underneath the feet in the sleepers, just be careful he's not too warm either.

Put him in a footed sleeper, they are warm and he can walk in them without a problem. Also put a blanket on him when you put him to bed, if he gets too warm he will pull it off, and if he wants it back on later he will pull it back over himself. Baby is almost self sufficient, isn't that great and don't worry so much, he won't break with at least, minimal care!
My grandson, now 17 months, even puts the cover over his face, he must prefer it that way, when it is moved, he puts it right back.

If you use blankets, make sure they are the loose woven thermal type which will not smother him if they get over his face.
But unless your house is VERY cold at night, the fuzzy, footy blanket sleepers should be plenty.
You could even add a onesie and socks underneath if you need to.

Get him those blanket sleepers. The kind made of blanket material, they have zippers & feet. They are very warm, he can move around. The good thing is when he kicks off the blankets, you don't have to worry about him freeezing.

One piece fleece sleepers. Depending on the weather or how cold your room gets. You could even put a onsie or socks underneath. With that your son wouldn't need a blanket.

Talk to your doctor. there is a way to use a blanket in a crib with an infant. he can tell you how. i would avoid the blanket though.

Its safe to put blankets on him just make sure that you don't cover his face. You should put the blanket below his chest. Also make sure that you get up once in a while in the middle of the night so you could make sure that he is fine.

wear a pair of pajamas, and depending on how cold your house is, judge number of blankets accordingly. I bet just the comforter on your childs bed will do.
Just lay your baby in bed and cover him up. Be sure to check on him and recover when necessary. As long as your home isn't cold, he'll survive a night with the blankets kicked off, and if he is cold, he will cry.
You have no worries, hon. Just cover him up and wear warm jammies.
