first brainstorm: draw a circle in the middle of a paper w/ "BODY ODOR" inside. then stem out other circles from there, with different reasons Why they really Bug you. from there, u can also have sub-circles stemming out from the reasons... that will help.

let's say you have
Body Odor -
-smelly
-gross
-disgusting
-dirty
-embarrassing- (people make fun of you, think u are dirty, etc)

then, pick the best 3 reasons, i would say that Smelly, Dirty, and Embarrassing are the best...and the strongest one is Embarrasing cuz u can talk about what different stereotypes people will think about you.

so, then you create an outline, and a thesis statement using the top 3 reasons:

I. Intro:
Body odor is undesirable because it is connoted with being smelly, dirty, and it is very embarrasing.

II. Body:
A: Smelly (write a paragraph solely about being smelly)
B : Dirty (write a paragraph solely about being dirty)
C: Embarrasing (write a paragraph solely about being embarrasing... u always want to use the Strongest point as your last in the body!)

III. Conclusion: sum up your essay and write a concluding statement.

tada!! that is ur outline. then u can add in a great introduction, and add more "meat" and reasons to support your paragraphs, and then the conclusion should strongly show why you feel Body Odor is so annoying. also, try to write ur essay as though the reader does not know what body odor is, that way you cover all the points. good luck!

Start off with some background on what the object- in this case body odor is and how it is coming into play for this essay. Then give your two or three top reasons for why you think that body odor bugs you. Then go on in the rest of the paper to address these reasons. And your opening argument, if it is going to be that body odor really bugs you has to be more specific and you must back your answer up with good strong reasons and/or evidence.

Start by listing all the reasons it bugs you, then go into more detail about your list. Try to come up with at least 3, or however many the assignment may require. Each one can be a paragraph, and there's the body of the essay. Stay away from slang; use "bothers" or irritates" instead if "bugs". Finish it off with an introduction and a conclusion.

I'd say that there are a couple of approaches. One would be to start out with a thesis statement (e.g. Body odor is an increasing problem in today's society. Or alternatively: With all the other problems in the world, we realy don't have time to worry about body odor.) Then proceed to discuss your point.
Another approach would be to skip the first paragraph for now and jump right in to what you want to write about. After you are done, you might have a better idea what you should say to introduce what you have written. You would then go back an write an openning paragraph. Good luck!

I find it is easiest to write out an outline of what I want to talk about before actually getting down to the writing portion of the essay. Ask yourself questions like "Why do we have body odor?" Or "What can be done to prevent body odor?" Then start making a list of answers under those questions.

I use that list later to figure out what points are most important for me to discuss in my essay.

Your topic sentence could be "I am really bugged by body odor." Then go on to explain what it is and why it bugs you.

Your topic sentence is something to grab attention, and the last sentence in your introduction should be your these.

You have to make an introduction first. Then a thesis.
