I knew this person while studying. We got along but didn't really do a lot of things together. Now suddenly they want to do things together and that's great - but only when it suits them. It seems like whenever I propose something they have to change it to fit their schedule which classes with mine very often. Also, they seem unhappy when I bring my boyfriend along. I've even been stood up, so...

What should I do? I would greatly appreciate advice as to avoid future situations like this. Thanks for your time.

Is this friend a male? Cus if so, he wants you to himself it sounds like. If female, then they sound like a fairweather friend. (friend of convenience) Some people are really stubborn too and not willing to do what it takes to compromise. All relationships require negotiation and compromise. If you are doing all the work it is not fair... you could try bringing it up gently?

She sounds like she wants you all to herself and at her convenience. The bottom line is that she isn't your friend and that you need a friend who would be fair 50/50 and that isn't stubborn or should I say selfish. And when it comes to your boyfriend a true friend would be happy to see their friend with someone who they care about. SHE'S JUST HATIN'. GOOD LUCK!

Fortunately you've figured it out. You're being used by these 'so-called" friends. You don't need these types in your life. Drop them and go solo or with your boyfriend.

Expand your horizons and make new friends, and only do things with these friends when YOU feel like it.

you need to stand your ground and be real with him/her for a change. voice your feelings in strong, firm, but respectful manner. real friends don't do that to you.
