Who's your favorite and why... I love all of these bands and their music!!! Would appreciate your input... Thanks!

They may all be your favorites but they are all VERY different. I am partial to Evanescence and the Cranberries and who doesnt LOVE U2 ...(not really a Marilyn Manson fan) but it shows that you really like alternative/rock...you hold true to that kind of music...most importantly which is YOUR FAVORITE?

I like U2 because they have things to say and Bono is just very dynamic as a frontman.
Evanescence is good because Amy's voice has actually improved with time.
The Cranberries are okay. The lead singer's voice is very unique.
Marilyn is a genius because he's not afraid to be different and many of his songs say something important too.
But The Cure is my favorite. Robert Smith may need to ditch the bad hair and smeared lipstick, but The Cure is still pretty amazing. Even their last album was pretty good, which I can only say the same for Evanescence and possibly U2. Plus, The Cure's just made really good music in the past.

The Cure, for everything from goth to dance pop &psychadelic rag at times. Robert Smith is an excellent singer and songwriter and with the exception of The Top I'd much rather own Mr. Smith and company's back catalog that the overly melodramatic drivel of Evanesence. I don't apologise for that statement either, I'm a musician and I call em like I see em, it's "now" music and nothing more.
U2? I'm tired of rich people like Bono asking those with little or nothing to bail out everyone and their cousin from financial woe, he needs to hit Bill Gates up for money and let the cash flow come to my wallet for a change.
I like the Cranberries however, they don't put out material often enough to keep my interest.
Marily Manson used to be a somebody but now, he's played out and needs to surround himself with better musicians so he can start pushing the musical envelope again.
As good as the rest of the folks might seem to be on this list Disintigration is considered a classic and for a band that's still togethor after all these years that's an accomplishment, I don't hear other influential artists sighting the other bands listed here as an influence.

U2: only before 1987, please. Some of their stuff since then is good; everything before then is good. Marilyn Manson, well, admittedly, I only like some of his stuff. The Cranberries, Dolores Riordan's voice was the main draw there. That break she does, over and over and over, in Zombie... wow! I don't really like Evanescence just cause their stuff's a little whiny.
Favorite, though? The Cure. They made whiny fashionable, didn't they? Plus, look at Lullaby, creepy as hell. And Why Can't I Be You? LOVE that. I think they show their true versatility on their cover of Purple Haze, though. Everyone else who did a cover for that Jimi tribute tried to be Jimi. Nix! That's not how Jimi would have done it! He took a song written by someone else and TOTALLY made it his own. That's what the Cure did on their version of Purple Haze. Good stuff!

u2 i despise. the cure have 2 good songs. the cranberries have a few more than two good songs and manson is a freak , although made some good music. i wouldn't think these bands are that important in the grander scheme of thing, but whatever floats your boat.

I used to like U2. But now i like rage against the machine. But U2 is still a good band.

Of your choices my pick would be U2. They have never been about the money or the popular thing. They put their heart and soul into every thing they do.
I can't believe you put an icon like U2 in the some sentence as marlyn manson. That thing is nothing but an insecure, attention craving, fake freak. Why do you think he wears all that makeup and costumes??

Evanescence all the way! Amy is so freaking Hott and her voice gives me chills every time I hear her sing! Oh gosh I wish I could have her sing for me ion person, she's such a Super Hottie!

i hate u2... the cure is ok... i love evanescence... she is beautiful and has such an amazing voice... i dk who the cranberries are and i like marilyn mason just cuz he is so unique

but I only like a few songs... I didn't even listen to any of their CDs
But I like Amy Lee's voice. My Immortal is an awesome song!
