On a propane oven you cannot just blow out the pilot. Some of them have what is called a 100% shut off that will automatically close the gas to it after a minute or so. Some do not. If yours does not, you could end up with a hazardous condition. Best to physically close the gas valve to the oven to be safe, rather than sorry. When it comes time to relight it, if it lights easily after the gas is turned back on, then it is not 100%. On the other hand if you have to push a red reset button or lever to get gas to the pilot, then it was probably 100%. But at least it's clean and you're safe.

You should blow out the pilot light.
Most oven cleaners are aerosols and
are flammable when dispensed.
You will not fill your house with gas
by leaving the pilot light off. Very little
gas is being fed to pilot light.
Blow it out, spray, wait, scrub clean,
re-light. Cook me something yummy.

just blow out the pilot, clean, and re-light the pilot. NOT SELF CLEANING!
