I read a book and I think my stalled weight loss despite Lap Band surgery, low calorie, lots of exercise and small portions could be due to fatty liver. Want to cleanse it. Have read Fat Flush diet and Ultra Metabolism. Don't want to get sick though. Can I do a cleanse if I have no gallbladder?

Actually, there are several total-body cleanses available at your local health food store. Most are safe, effective, and gentle. Ask the clerks which one they would recommend for you.

I think all those "cleanses" are a bunch of bull. Go to your doctor and ask to have liver function tests done (it is simple bloodwork). If your liver enzymes are elevated that would tell you that your liver is damaged or fatty. If they are normal then that is not why you are having trouble losing weight. Come to think of it, even if you do have a fatty liver I don't think that should slow down your weight loss. Also, there is no cleanse that would be able to cure a fatty liver. You would need to adjust your diet.

By the way, you might as well have your cholesterol tested when you have the liver tests done because if you do have a fatty liver your cholesterol may be high too.

Obesity can certainly give you fat infiltration of the liver termed NAFL or NASH depending on the degree of infiltration. This becomes a problem if the fat [in effect] crushes the adjacent normal liver cells. If this hasn't yet happened then the liver cells continue to work on their own - no problem. If this has happened, then there's really nothing you can do but lose the weight and hope that over the timecourse of years the fat infiltration of the liver will decrease.

The idea that soemthing is going to "flush out" the liver is incorrect. I'm not sure what people think is going to be flushed out. There's nothing in there to flush out. Don't waste the money.

Remember, anything that took years to happen [like weight gain] takes years to undo.

hi Nefie, Billie77 provides a strong suggestion, that's likewise my recipe for you, yet first, attempt to maintain a life like weight. Being overweight or underweight will boost your probabilities of having gallstones. 2d, drink sufficient fluids. Any time you're dehydrated, you could make the bile develop into better concentrated and gallstones may result. third, shop up including your strong balanced weight relief plan. do not devour a number of fat. yet, do not dodge them altogether. As continuously, the ultimate fat are those you get of their organic state. the ultimate position to get corn oil is through ingesting corn. the ultimate position to get olive oil is through ingesting olives. in case you favor to dodge some thing that's distinctly subtle nutrients. Fourth, a strong workout software will shop the blood flow through your liver and gallbladder at strong ranges and can assist with any issues that would ensue. finally, in case you do advance discomfort that sounds like it will be a situation including your gallbladder, see your clinical specialist. in case you do have discomfort from gallstones, the ultimate and intensely last treatment remains surgical operation.
