I'm in my late 20's and I have been sexaully assualted/harrassed at a restaurant my husband and I eat at regularly by the manager. He proceeds to touch me in appropriately when my husband isnt' at the table by rubbing my shoulders and arms. He has even tickled me one time while I was eating there alone. One of his employees approached me and said that the manager claims he and I are having an affair. I am now so disgusted that I no longer have any desire to enter the restaurant. Please tell what I can do about this disgusting behavior. I will not allow myself to be subject to this again, but I fear for any other female customers that walk into this restaurant and are subjected to the same treatment.

Unlike a place of employment, you are not a captive audience,
so your rights as far as sexual harasment go=0
If you dont like it, dont go back!

If the restaurant is not a chain, and the manager is making statements that are damaging your reputation, well that is an entirely different matter. I think you should contact an attorney. It may cost you a little bit of money (less than $100) for your attorney to write the manager a letter and that should .

An attorney can also explain your rights and tell you how to protect yourself if the restaurant is a chain. I wouldn't go calling the District Manager until you talk to an attorney. If you make accusations against him that you can't back up, you could be in a lot of trouble.

Finally, there are creepy guys all over the world. I wish there weren't. Just eat someplace else. Vote with your feet.

Good Luck.

If it is a chain, tell the management of the company. That's the most effective way to deal with it. You might also be able to sue. Big companies DO NOT want this problem and will fire him, pronto.

Otherwise, if the man is the owner there's not much you can do - contact the Better Business Bureau.

Good luck.

You have been to this restaurant how many times? You have been 'assaulted'? That is a crime. And NOW you want to know your legal rights from people on YA? I think you dig the attention - period.

you should try to get over yourself. and pls, pls, pls, quit trying to make your little made up story a part of our day. i know it makes you feel good to make things bigger than they are to get some reaction whether it be anger, sadness, sympathy, etc.

this is an issue you should have brought up with your husband the second it happened. if it was something you didnt like or want (if it happened at all) logic would dictate that you would bring this up.

You dont have any. Tell the creep to leave you alone. If he doesn't, and touches you again, file a police report.

if it is a franchished location contact home office and inform them, the franchisee will be informed of the complaint and could lose their franchise if they don't take action. ie reprimand, 1st offense, potential termination.

Do not eat there. Tell your husband. Call the owner. Simple.
